About GHT

Firstly, thank you for visiting Get Help Today (GHT). So, what is GHT? Well really, the question is "who, is GHT?"

GHT, were the initials of our wonderful son and brother George Henry Thompson. George took his own life in October 2021, just under two months after his 18th birthday. Throughout his teenage years, he coped with what he called "Thunderstorms." The stormy days were outweighed by sunny ones, happy ones.

This was the thought process behind the GHT Logo.

George would often tell us funny stories of times at Stockport County, moments from his part time job at Sainsbury’s or just from a night out with his fantastic friends.

What we didn't realise whilst George was alive, was what a lasting impression he left on people he came into contact with. We had so many comments from people who we had never even met, who had only met George once, saying what a lovely person he was and how engaging he had been when they had spoken to him.

Many would also say how smartly dressed he was. 

In May 2021, George had completed his A-levels and in July began working as an apprentice builder. In the months after he died, we found pieces of his A-Level graphics work. 

George had a love of fashion, especially Adidas trainers. We showed the work to friends and family, many of whom said they would like to buy it as a t-shirt. After several months of deliberation, we contacted Adidas through Rachael, a family friend, to see if we could gain permission to produce the artwork.

In 2024, Adidas kindly granted us a 2 year licence to produce the artwork, which you can see on this site. A percentage of all profits from the t-shirt sales with George's Adidas artwork on, will go to Stockport based charity Mentell.
